Primary Authority Register

By registering and using use the Primary Authority Register, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

The Office for Product Safety & Standards maintains a secure register to facilitate the operation of Primary Authority. This register contains information about primary authority partnerships, such as:

  1. contact details for primary authority partnerships;
  2. communication between regulators;
  3. advice given by primary authorities;
  4. inspection plans; and
  5. proposed enforcement action.

The Primary Authority Register can be accessed by local authorities.

Specified regulators can access parts of the register (they cannot access information about enforcement action). Businesses (and their authorised agents) and co-ordinators can access information on the Register which relates to their primary authority partnership.

You must not seek to gain access to the Primary Authority Register unless you have authority to do so from your business, local authority, or other specified regulator.

Information on the Register, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information legislation (primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004).

Use of Information held on the Register

Information held on the Register is only to be used for purposes which directly relate to the Primary Authority partnership.

Termination of Employment

In the event that your employment with the organisation you act on behalf of is terminated the right to access to the Register ends. The Office for Product Safety & Standards must be informed of any user changes.

Password

You will not disclose your username and/or password to any other party.

Exclusion of Liability

We exclude all liability (except in respect of death or personal injury due to our negligence or in respect of any fraudulent misrepresentation) for any loss or damage (whether arising under contract, in tort or otherwise) suffered or incurred by you as a result of the supply to you or the use by you of the Register, in particular as a result of any errors or inaccuracies on the Register whether such losses arise directly or indirectly from the breach.
